A Rebuttal to Ignorance

The level of ignorance in people is astounding. Engaging in excessive hedonism IS a form of distraction because the people in power know that humans are at their core, filled with desires that are never quelled; the people in 'power', even moreso. Why do they distract the populace? Because they are illogical; irrational and they wish to remain in control. This is their paranoia. I worked as a counselor for more than 10 years and I can tell you, when you study the human psyche, you begin to get the picture. To the idiot that mentioned about buddhism and indulgence, they are truly moronic. Religion is a man made institution that teaches lies. (You should study defense mechanisms). You believe it is your 'right' to indulge in whatever you like and should not be corralled? The pleasures of life are fleeting and dissatisfying, you will always crave the next high. The people in control know this. They want you to be that way in order to continue their way of life; namely to remain in their position of control. You think your indulgence is your 'right' as a human? It's not because your indulgences harm someone else. Pornography is made off of abused humans; meat comes from abused animals; material goods in one way or another are pillaged at the expense of the people living in an area and at the price of nature. Consenting adults? Have sex with whomever you wish? What if that person you had sex with has complexes and hangups and you just exacerbated them? How do you feel after multiple sexual encounters? Better? Why do you need more then? It's never ending; that's how the human will works. It's never satisfied. Oh and the reason why humans seek these indulgences? Anxiety, stress, depression, trauma...I could go on. Why do we even have these mental disturbances? You guessed it, because we ARE NOT FREE.

SOLUTIONS: Satisfy your cravings through the creative process. Find what drives you and channel it into that. I'm not saying become a hermit and deny yourself but excessiveness leads to a damaged psyche. Ask yourself, "Will this thing I'm about to engage in, harm someone or something?" If so, forgo it. I get that most things we do, harm something in some way but we can diminish that harm. Don't procreate because humans are too stupid to know how to raise humane children (If you already have children, don't have anymore!). Challenge the status quo. Live as simply as possible, don't sign up for war, don't vote, study the poets, philosophers, Jung and other amazing psychologists, there's so much we can do! What do I do? Write, play my violin, eat vegan, no children, quit the corporation and work for myself (it's not perfect but it's a start). In the end, if we could abolish the money system that would be fantastic but perhaps in a long, long distant future...turning a blind eye is why we have had constant war and all of these other atrocities I've mentioned. It's really time to stop but in the end, it's as one person said below, we higher humans are just talking to each other. The rest of the herd, will go on in their ignorance but we try to reach them anyway.
